Our client is the premier manufacturer of components for the jet aircraft, gas turbine and other advanced-technology industries. They are currently looking for a Process Engineer to join their friendly engineering team in Devon. The main purpose of the role is to develop, implement and maintain all process engineering activities.
Skills Required:
Min HNC in Materials Engineering or equivalent
Preferable Engineering Degree in one of the following fields: Design Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Metallurgical and Materials Engineering
Min 3 years relevant engineering work experience (manufacturing, wax molding, casting automotive, aerospace, dimensions, turbine, blades)
Drawing/Tolerance literacy
Layout (Ideally 1st Principals) Knowledge and alignment principals
Knowledge of problem solving tools (FMEA or equivalent).
Good statistical understanding (SPC/Process Capability/Gauge R+R).
Knowledge of Tool-making processes.
Knowledge of automation systems.
Good communication/interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Ability to prepare and write reports
Computer Literate
British/EU/American passport
The role involves:
Process engineering activities on multiple Aero/IGT blades and vanes
Responsible for qualification of robust metallurgical sound processes to meet customer specified requirements.
Review metallurgical related product design
Technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering metallurgical issues
Review & approve customer specifications with regard to metallurgical requirements (materials & processes).
Produce, review and approve internal qualification reports.
Troubleshoot manufacturing problems
Complete root cause analysis and implement root cause fixes.
Cost reduction and method improvement projects.
Identify significant and insignificant process changes and develop a structure for their implementation where necessary.
