The Die Finisher Engineer

Our client provides technical support through projects & technical follow. The Die Centre is responsible for the manufacture of dies.

Key Role & Responsibilities:
Assembly of new press / hemming die tooling using die drawings.
Implement design changes / repairs to new and current press tools.
Tryout of tooling in press and maturation of panel quality.
Support to UK and European die suppliers.
Support to press production dies

Job Requirements ('E' is Essential/'D' is Desirable):

Experience in an engineering environment (E)
Ability to read die drawings (E)
Preferably apprentice trained in press die tooling discipline (D)
Welding knowledge preferable (D)

Experience in the following areas:
Assembly of all die parts after machining using die drawings
Welding and grinding to make die ready for press
Die spotting to confirm die function
Line tryout to confirm and adjust panel formability and die function
Maturate die to achieve high quality panel for the customer
Travel within UK and to European die suppliers to support trial events


Additional Requirements:
Daily and weekly verbal communication with team and section.
Good team work and the ability to communicate all issues freely.
Must be proactive, assertive, open and responsive to change.
Has the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Must be flexible and adaptable to constantly changing requirements of the business. (3 shift pattern/holiday working/weekend working)
