We are currently looking to recruit a Whole Boat Design Engineer to work at the Submarine Support Management Group (SSMG) in Keynsham, near Bristol. The SSMG Platform Design department provides multi-disciplinary professional and technical support to the MoD submarine platform Design Authorities for all in-service Royal Navy submarines.
Working within a small team of engineers, the Whole Boat Design Engineer will be responsible for the management and conduct of a range of technical tasks associated with platform wide design, safety, process and documentation issues on RN submarines. Other tasks include the production and review of technical reports and specifications, sub-contractor management and customer liaison. This may also include the supervision of junior staff and developing task opportunities with the customer.

The ideal applicant will be Degree qualified, or equivalent, in a relevant engineering based discipline or HND/HNC qualified, or equivalent, with relevant experience. Experience of MoD working practices or familiarity with submarine design, operation and support would be advantageous.
