Introduction:
My client is a leading company who has extensive experience in the Building, Designing, Operation, Maintenance and Supports Mission critical Broadcast Transmissions, Communications systems and Facilities for many of the world’s most demanding organizations. Including Governments, Ministry of Defence Organisations, Public and Commercial sectors, This is a support vacancy within a large Ministry of Defence (MoD) infrastructure program and consequently the successful candidate must be willing to undergo Security vetting at all levels.
Responsibilities:
- Providing technical support to Engineers, Project and Bid Managers on multi-disciplined projects. - A source of Power Engineering expertise, including design, for diverse bids and projects associated with a broad range of defence and broadcast sector customers. - Coordinate contracts with equipment / service providers and to witness and supervise contractor acceptance tests and installation activities. - Provide support for ongoing operations and projects, including installation and integration works. - Planning and delivery of the relevant engineering aspects of projects and work packages from conception to completion, to agreed budgets, timescales and the appropriate quality. - Provision of technical support in the Power Engineering discipline and associated fields. - Contribute to the overall design, preparation of specifications, material procurement, management and the supervision of the project phase. - Deliver cost estimates to meet the ongoing needs of the business. - Articulate complex technical concepts, to both technical and non-technical customers and suppliers. - Keep abreast of technology advances and methods in Power and associated engineering disciplines. - Build and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers. - An adequate knowledge of and compliance with the Health and Safety policy, international legislation and regulations consistent with their responsibilities.
Applicant Requirements:
- Qualified to at least degree level or equivalent, in a relevant technical discipline, sufficient to achieve Chartered Engineer status. - Experience as a Senior Authorised Person, for the safe operation of High Voltage equipment, at least up to 11000Volts. - Previous experience in a project engineering role. - Excellent communication skills to contribute to the effective and cohesive functioning of a matrix structured, geographically distributed (nationally and internationally), project team. - An understanding of project management systems and processes. - Able to multitask and deliver critical results whilst working under pressure. - Ability to produce and deliver professional presentations to internal and external customers. - Able to demonstrate enthusiasm for change and the capability to adapt to changing circumstances. - Computer literate (Word, Excel and Visio) - Able and willing to work flexible hours throughout the UK and abroad - Full current driving licence. - Working knowledge of Risk Management techniques and their application. - Knowledge of Microsoft Project, PowerPoint and Access.
