The Role
With a number of new contracts due to start over the next few months, my client is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to come on board with one of the most successful commercial teams in the area.
Candidates will be part of a larger commercial team and reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor. This role is a long-term position.
You will be responsible for managing a number of subcontract packages from procurement stages to final account, whilst given as much exposure and responsibility for other parts of the commercial process as you take on.
Duties Include:
• Preparation of site budgets
• Preparation of monthly site valuations
• Procurement of Sub-Contract Packages
• Overall actions that contribute to maximising the return on capital.
• Ensuring that activities are planned, managed and monitored in a way that supports the project objectives and reflects ‘best practice''

The Individual
• Candidates will preferably have some form of training, although experience with a main contractor or working on larger scale projects in a support role would be preferred
• A degree in Quantity Surveying or directly related construction area would be a preference as is a high level of personal responsibility and self motivation and an ability to use own initiative, whilst interacting within a team.
• Candidates will demonstrate an understanding of Quantity Surveying duties coupled with a desire to establish a career within an established contractor
