Site Support Engineer - experience of the installation and commissioning of capital equipment - ONC/HNC qualified - based Christchurch, Dorset - salary £24 - 26K plus overtime
We are looking for a Site Support Engineer for an engineering company involved in the design and supply of Measurement solutions for the metals industry.
The Site Support Engineer should be qualified to ONC/HNC level or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline and have experience of the installation and commissioning of capital equipment on a European and/or International basis and have a multi-disciplined skill base
All candidates for the position of Site Support Engineer should have good organisational skills, a technical background and be IT literate.
The ability to work unsupervised and under pressure is essential
A working knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC programming would be of benefit as would experience of maintenance and networking of system computers and a background in the metals industry or Instrumentation.
Reporting to the Site Support Manager and working as part of the Site Support team the Site Support Engineer's role will involve carrying out Installation, Commissioning and Servicing on a range of products, Orbis, Schneider filters and Width gauging systems.
The role will encompass electronics, software, optical and mechanical elements and the day to day duties will include:-
* Supervision of equipment Installations at customer sites
* Liaising with onsite erection team.
* System commissioning.
* Providing site activity and status reports.
* Providing customer training, both onsite and at base
* Undertaking overseas travel
* Servicing existing systems.
* Assembly and testing of products
* Testing at suppliers sites.
* Liaising with the sales team with new sales opportunities, including spares and repairs.
As this role is with an International company there is a need to travel overseas to customer sites
