Managing Quantity Surveyor - Exeter - Devon
Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, your role will be to undertake responsibility for the effective management of commercial functions, administration and re-measurement of works within the designated area. You will be based in Exeter and work between a satellite in Cornwall and the Exeter office
Key Accountabilities:
Responsible for the provision of accurate cost value measurement and final accounting, contributing to improving financial reporting processes and systems. Liaise with Finance Team · Responsible for ensuring all project targets are met, including the accurate measurement, cost control and settlement of final accounts and promote effective budgeting and cost control within Project Teams. Monitor and analyse the financial performance of schemes, reporting appropriately.
Agreeing, Validation/Final Accounts and payments of suppliers and subcontractors.
Proactively input in to the development of the Business Team providing assistance to senior management and Project Teams in order to assist in the delivery of the contract Team business objectives and goals.
Manage the performance, training and development of any direct reports.
Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with the general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Procedures Manual.
Perform other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required.
Degree or equivalent
· Typically 5+ years experience to include professional/managerial experience
· Experience of analysing scheme financial data
· Good leadership and interpersonal skills
· Computer literate with competent ability and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
· Good communication skills
· Accuracy and attention to detail
