What is the Role?

Working for a multi-disciplinary railway consultancy that operates throughout the UK and overseas. This division undertakes Project Management for tendered work as well as offering the service to clients having considerable experience of the management and delivery of major Railway projects ranging from Feasibility, Project Definition, Detailed Design, and Contract Implementation through to Commissioning.

The Project Manager will join the Project office based in the South West taking on the role of Project Manager for medium sized rail related projects and will assist in the bid preparation for new projects. You will be responsible for management of the project teams based in the office and where relevant, other UK offices. Internally, you will be responsible for controlling and delivering a varied portfolio of concurrent projects. The projects will encompass a wide range of scope, phase and client.

The main purpose of the role is the responsibility to ensure commercial, financial, quality and programme targets are met. In addition to this the preparation of tender proposals, planning, monitoring and ensuring projects are controlled effectively and delivering projects to client’s satisfaction will be a key responsibility.

What Skills do I need?

Experience and a proven ability to manage internal teams as well as external stakeholders and client teams. In addition to this a demonstrable ability to negotiate commercial, financial and contractual arrangements and experience of change management at project level is required.
