The Bristol office has been consistently winning civil infrastructure projects for a wide range of clients, and as such we now require an Infrastructure Associate to work on a range of challenging, dynamic and high-profile projects.
Job description
This is an opportunity to build, within a multi-disciplinary office, a civils infrastructure team. As an Associate the role demands undertaking pre-planning and design work on a range of large and small scale developments in the South West area. The work is interesting and varied, including schemes for developers and land owners, local authorities, Government organisations, as well as overseas clients.
• Ensuring technical excellence is achieved on projects • Management of a Civils design team in the detail design of projects to achieve the clients intent • Attending meetings to establish and develop client briefs • Developing conceptual infrastructure design solutions • Preparation of technical specifications • Conducting technical and detailed design audits • Produce tender documentation and advise clients on the appointment of sub-contractors • Implementation of clients strategy to ensure that the quality is prevalent • Delivering the projects on time and to budget • Developing further business opportunities • Ensuring full compliance of all policies and procedures relating to the design process, quality and commercial issues
Candidate specification
Essential competencies/skills:
• Degree or equivalent in a Civil engineering subject • Experience in highway and transportation, drainage design, flood risk assessment, and dealing with utilities • Demonstrable experience in technical design and report writing • Experience in project management and client liaison • Confidence in dealing with clients, utility companies, survey firms, and local authorities • The ability to communicate effectively with staff and external clients of all levels • Previous experience of working as part of a multi disciplinary project team • Good commercial awareness and results orientated • Well connected in the local market, with an interest in Business Development for the Group in Bristol & the south West
Desirable competencies/skills:
• ICE Chartership • Previous experience in team leading • Previous experience of a multi-disciplinary consultancy • Experience in preparation of Transportation Assessments and Flood Risk Assessments would be an advantage |
