Our client is an international multi-disciplinary consultant to the built, natural and social environment, with over 3000 staff located in more than 30 offices providing a comprehensive and co-ordinated range of high quality socio economic, planning, environmental, engineering, surveying and management services to a diverse range of clients in the public and private sectors. A position has arisen at their Bristol office for CDM Co-ordinator / Planning Supervisor to work on projects predominately in South West and Wales, as well as nationally including compiling health and safety plans and files, reviewing designers risk assessments and contractor's construction phase health and safety plans, etc. Furthermore you will undertake internal project reviews to check H&S issues are identified and assist designers to comply with their duties. You will be expected to actively promote good design and practice with regard to H&S and keeping designers within the office abreast of H&S issues, undertaking business development to promote and develop the role of Planning Supervisor service and to develop other associated H&S services, i.e. audits, etc. Additionally the role could include carrying out safety inspections/audits of a work place, identify hazards, breaches in H&S legislation and propose cost effective remedial actions and also DDA audits, etc. The ideal applicant should be able to demonstrate: · Experience within construction industry · Working knowledge of current CDM processes/ legislation · Broad and in-depth experience of delivering appropriate, timely and practicable solutions · A Client orientated approach · Ability to work well in a team · A good standard of verbal and written skills Key Competencies Personal Qualities : · The ideal applicant must have a current driving licence, good communicator at all levels, competent IT skills, good presentational skills together with a flexible and hands on approach. Qualifications: · Professionally qualified, NEBOSH General certificate/Construction certificate, member of the APS/IOSH (desirable It must be highlighted whilst it would be preferable to have these qualifications it is not a prerequisite of the role. . Experience · Planning supervision together with hands on experience within a contracting company.
