Assistant Engineer job, Dorset, Poole
Assistant Engineer My client is looking for an Assistant Engineer to work in the Poole or Southampton Office. As an Assistant Engineer you're work will be primarily office based, but there may be an opportunity to supervise the construction of works. Engineers wishing to work towards Incorporated or Chartered Status will be offered the chance to join our ICE accredited training scheme.
My client operates numerous design offices throughout the UK responsible for the delivery of solutions to both major highway improvement schemes and maintenance works. They are seeking to recruit a number a staff to strengthen our design teams in Basingstoke working on various Major Highway projects for the Highways Agency.
Responsibilities You will be involved in the technical input of highway schemes from inception through to handover of the completed scheme to the client.
Technical input is likely to include:
• Preparation of documents, reports and health and safety risk assessments • Scheme feasibility studies • Preparation of scheme designs and drawings • Interfacing with multi disciplinary project teams • Value engineering and value management • Project management and client reporting
Requirements • A degree in Civil Engineering • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications • Experience or knowledge of design packages such as MX, MicroDrainage and Key Software preferred, but not essential
