One of the main contracts the client is involved with is the local Universities, which involves refurbishment, small works and capital maintenance either secured directly by the client or via the contracted builder as a preferred supplier. New projects recently secured include various installations of services for hotel projects of a sustainable nature.
At present the company are supplying small changes to current equipment and building services systems i.e. heat pumps or inverters etc. New works being secured are the installations of fully sustainable building services solutions that do not restrict to using a specified number of solutions. The client offers all sustainable and up to date technologies to ensure buildings are as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible reducing energy consumption, lower energy costs and reducing carbon footprints.
An ideal career move for a mechanically biased building services engineer / contract manager who has a genuine interest in sustainability and new technology.
You will:
·Work on contracts within the public sector and commercial sector between the values of £2,000 and £400,000.
·Areas in building services within your remit will be air-conditioning, ventilation, controls, mechanical engineering and some small-scale electrical elements.
·Procure equipment and materials
·Organise labour of sub-contractors
·Attend site project meetings
·Produce Health and Safety and O&M manuals
·Attend handover meetings
·Have financial control of projects including cost comparisons, cost analysis etc with the aim of making profit and keeping with budget constraints.
·Manage up to 10 contracts at any one-time dependant on size.
·Final account
·Client liaison
·Produce quotes on small jobs or variations.
·Be supported by a contract administration assistant.
