Title: Vision System Engineer/Programmer

Our client is cvurrently looking for a Vision System Engineer who will be responsible for designing, specifying and implementing machine vision hardware and software for applications specific to customer needs and project needs. The Vision Engineer will be challenged to solve machine vision inspection problems and provide solutions to customer needs.
Skills Required:
Min HND qualified in relevant technical discipline
Knowledge of Computer Vision and Image Processing
VB.Net Application Programming
Database and SQL
Knowledge of TCP/IP and Networking
Driving Licence
Willing to travel to customer locations (UK wide)
Desirable skills:
Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
C++/# Programming
A Microsoft Qualification
Microprocessor architectures
Knowledge of Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi PLCs is highly desirable.
Knowledge of SCADA systems
The role involves:
• Performing application feasibility studies to select and qualify machine vision hardware to successfully address customer requirements and quantify the complexity of implementation of the solutions
• Developing the machine vision portion of the total system and providing all information required to develop a quote for system projects assigned by Engineering Manager; lighting, optics, cameras and development time
• Responsible for the implementation of all aspects of the vision portion of systems where machine vision is used; hardware design, software development and system testing
• Technical support and integration assistance to international customers
