Our client, a leading automotive component manufacturer based in Swindon, is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, articulate, experienced and highly self motivated Cost Control Section Manager to oversee the activities of a team of purchasing and sales professionals within a busy manufacturing environment, as a result of recent positive restructuring and a planned programme of strategic growth,
To be considered for this challenging post, the successful candidate will demonstrate commercial experience gained ideally within a Tier 1 automotive supplier Purchasing or Sales Function, and will manage a team of specialists for Purchasing and Sales activities, monitoring Supplier performance through KPIs on Quality, Delivery and Cost and taking actions where necessary as well as estimating tooling and associated component cost from engineering drawings and driving Cost Reduction activities throughout the entire supply chain.
Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the relationship with the Customer and ensuring requests are answered in a timely manner, necessitating working closely with suppliers in order to achieve tooling project timings and with the Technical and Quality functions to track design change cost impact and introduction timing.
Working on a “permanent days” basis, you will possess skills and experience in the use of the MS Office suite (including Word, Excel, Power Point etc) and demonstrate extensive experience of press and injection mould tooling alongwith accurate cost calculation and analytical abilities and at least 2 years management experience. Able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team and to set and adhere to your own deadlines, this is an exceptional opportunity for a suitably committed and experienced Cost Control professional to join a stable, dynamic and highly enthusiastic team allied to the exciting world of automotive engineering.
