Thermal Analysis Engineer
Bristol, South West, Avon

Salary guideline range between £26-38,000 depending on experience. Plus excellent benefits and bonus scheme

We are a specialist recruitment agency and are recruiting for a number of engineering roles both contract and permanent.

This role for a Thermal Engineer is for one of our Bristol based clients and the role is work within their Structures department. Candidates should have excellent experience within the aerospace industry including:-

Qualification:

Essential:
· In-depth understanding of numerical thermal techniques and their application to engineering problem solving.
· In-depth understanding of finite element based analysis and its practical application in engineering problem solving.
· Sufficient understanding of structural engineering and aircraft stressing methods to be able to communicate with stress and design engineers.
· Basic understanding of aeronautical structures.
· Knowledge of use of composite materials desirable.
· Demonstrated relevant technical experience is essential.

Desirable:
· Experience using finite element analysis thermal tools such as MSC/Nastran and Abaqus or TMG/Ideas.
· Working knowledge of Unix computer systems.
· Programming experience desirable.
· Working Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics ( Fluent )
Competencies:
· Mathematical modelling, numerical calculations, detailed analysis.

The role will include undertaking thermal analysis to predict wing temperature distribution for both static and fatigue analysis, taking into account all systems and a range of environmental conditions. The analyst should be capable of interpreting thermal results and suggesting new design solutions based on achieved results.
The thermal task will encompass the generation of detailed finite element analysis models using wing and system geometry and/or structural finite element models.
In addition to the basic modelling and analysis tasks, the analyst must have the ability to also undertake smaller thermal development tasks.
