We are a specialist recruitment agency and we are currently recruiting for Structures Test - Test Engineer for our client based in Avon.
Structures Test Engineer - Composite Test
Coordinate / Manage
· The compilation of all required documentation within AP5006
· The change management process in accordance to AP5006
· The release of the ALCAS Instrumentation protocol, including 'tools' required to robustly 'track' the definition, installation on the structure and integration into the Test Institute Data Acquisition infrastructure.
· The certified installation of instrumentation on the ALCAS Lateral Wing Box (LWB).
· The timely delivery of instrumentation predictions for the LWB installation.
· The application of the instrumentation protocol as applicable to the Centre Wing Box (CWB), ensuring consistency across the process, from definition through to integration into the Test institute Data Acquisition infrastructure.
· The remaining phases of the Outer Wing Box diffusion structure work package to the LWB
· The design / manufacture & installation of the ALCAS dummy pylon (Structural Loading Dummy (SDL)) and the rib 1 'Reaction System'.
· The design / manufacture & installation of the CWB Rib 6 interface plate to dummy landing gear (SLD).
· The reviews required with AP5006 to ensure key dates are achieved with all data required to continue to the next phase.
· The verification of the test loads (static & fatigue) throughout the maturing of the test FEM, checkstress & results analysis phases.
· The generation of the following protocols
· Damage & Repair
· Inspection
· Reporting
· Ensuring all reports are delivered, including the final results analysis reports.
· The Test Rig / Means assembly, the integration of the test specimen and interface tools / systems (e.g. instrumentation) into the test infrastructure at the test institute.
· All stakeholders of work packager 1.5, the stakeholders are
· Messier Dowty
· CEAT
· WP1.2 Lateral Wing Box Team
· WP1.3 Centre Wing Box Team
· WP1.4 Final Assembly Line Team
Accountability
· All aspects of the test under their control.
· Financial control of all tests.
PROFILE
1. Educated to Degree level in Aeronautical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
2. Must be PC literate
3. Experience in Design/Manufacture/Assembly & Performance of test rigs & test specimens.
4. Experience of working in an Composite Environment would be an advantage.
Must have excellent coordination, networking & engineering skills
