Role Description: The role will focus on responsibilities within the Structure Capabilities team EDSAK in the UK
Major topics which will be covered by the individual are called ISAMI, SASt and INVITE:
ISAMI: is a project that is providing a common stress tool environment to all stress engineers. The role will be the work package leader for the product data management and extended enterprise aspects of the project. This role will require travel to other Airbus sites.
SASt: is a Stress Tools Support Team providing help desk support to engineers. The role will assist and deputise for the local SASt support leader in the UK.
INVITE: is a project to manage the integration of VISTA operating system and related software in the engineering environment. The role will be the structural analysis focal point of the UK to help support this project.
The role will integrate/support Information Services. This would involve the following tasks:- Implementation of the CAE Structure Analysis IT management. i. Securing of the availability of the necessary infrastructure (hard- software) ii. Version management of proprietary stress applications as well as for commercial software used by Airbus iii. The representation of the Structure Analysis departments in various international Engineering IT projects, iv. IT Quality for structural solutions v. Support to local software and hardware strategies.
Qualifications: (Desired/Essential/Competencies)
Graduate with minimum 5 years professional experience preferably in the aircraft industry, with a high level of management and computing expertise, preferably in a stress discipline.
Experience in the use of a number of stress analysis tools would be highly desirable.
The applicant would be expected to show leadership, a high level of autonomy, pro-activity, excellent communication skills and analytical and conceptual understanding,
The applicant is expected to be a team player with a high regard for internal and external customers, whilst maintaining aircraft integrity as the over-riding principle.
The applicant is expected to travel between European Airbus sites which will require overnight stays.
Experience in the use of PC and UNIX environments. Experience in quality and project management.
Language requirements: Fluent in spoken and written English
