One of our most prestigious engineering consultancies are in urgent need of two Stress Engineers to join their team based in Somerset. They operate from three offices throughout the UK and currently work alongside major Blue Chip companies such as Airbus, Westland’s and Stork.

This position is crucial to the productivity and efficiency of the Drawing Office and they are looking to recruit engineers who will enjoy inputting into future projects and plans. The Stress Engineers will be professionally organised individuals with excellent FEA and stress calculation (Nastran & Patran) capabilities. You will work closely within a fast paced Drawing Office alongside 30 other design and stress engineers.

The successful Stress Engineers will have an excellent understanding of Stress packages preferably either Nastran, Patran, or MathCAD. You will utilise your FEA skills and produce structural and stress analysis for several commercial and MOD composite projects.

£30,000 - £45,000 (negotiable dependant on experience
Excellent Benefits Package – Pension / Work towards Chartered Status is paid for / Annual Bonus / Insurance
Somerset – commutable from Bristol / Yeovil / Bridgewater / Chard / Wellington

The successful candidates will be degree qualified and have more than 5 years working experience within a Blue-chip Engineering Company preferably Aerospace. Those applicants with experience of composites stress analysis will be favoured however all applicants are welcome. On a daily basis you will be required to produce FEA structural analysis, static, modal, response and random analysis and aerodynamic loads for the NH90, A350 and EH101 projects ( to name but a few).

While my client has a number of contract stress engineers on board and will require more as we go into the fourth quarter, they need two permanent Stress Engineers whose motivations lie with company and career progression. They offer a very competitive salary which is purely negotiable dependant on your experience and industry knowledge. This is based on a basic 39 hour week, over time is available along with an excellent benefits package consisting of paid pension, the opportunity to work towards chartered status (which they pay for) and much more.
