Specialist Impact Engineer

Salary guideline range depending on experience £36-42,000 plus bonus and other excellent benefits


We are a specialist recruitment agency and we are currently recruiting for a number of permanent and contract positions within the aerospace industry including Stress Engineers, Landing Gear Designers and Structures Engineers.

This particular role is for a Specialist Impact Engineer and the role will require a candidate with experience within an aerospace environment.

Specialist Impact Engineer - Non-linear Finite Element Analyst

To develop and deliver non-linear finite element methodology, and define and coordinate R&T activities to advance this methodology to enable solution of non-linear structural problems related to aircraft structures.
To coordinate and perform structural particular risks activities and vulnerability FE analysis for design, certification.

Qualification:

Essential:
· Skills required encompass the use of finite element analysis software for the solution of non-linear and impact structural problems.
· Experience of ANSYS, MARC, DYNA3D, RADIOSS or PAMCRASH an advantage.
· Experience of Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit essential
· Good working knowledge of computer programming, preferably Fortran, Python and/or C
· Thorough understanding of structural analysis principles.
· A knowledge of finite element software development.
· A candidate with either a higher degree or suitable relevant experience would be considered.
· Demonstrated technical experience working as an engineer, preferably in the aircraft industry.

Desired:
· Experience in Hypermesh an advantage.
· Experience in Catia V5 an advantage .
· Task management skills an advantage.

Competencies:
Mathematical modelling, numerical calculations, detailed analysis.
