We are a specialist recruitment agency and we are currently recruiting for our client based in the Bristol area for a Senior F & DT Engineer

The Senior F & DT Engineer will be required to:-

Role Description:

· The job involves leading a team in the Structures Centre of Competence (CoC) within UK developing the methods / tools / policies applied to aircraft structure during the design, certification and in-service support for all client aircraft.
· The work will involve liaison with Static Stress, Composite Stress and Design and appropriate departments in Toulouse, Hamburg and Madrid to come up with optimum design solutions for the airline customer and the Centres of Excellence (CoEs).
· The engineer will ensure that fatigue, crack growth and residual strength methods / tools / policies are developed to assess design solutions using standard hand and computer methods.
· The engineer will be expected to liaise with the CoEs in order to ensure that methods, assumptions, data and procedures reflect on-going developments and that ongoing developments within the CoC will meet the CoEs requirements.
· The engineer will also be expected to lead on-going local improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through methods and process improvements.

Qualifications: (Desired/Essential/Competencies)

· A extensive years working as an engineer, preferably in the aircraft industry, involved in fatigue analysis of metallic structures using a broad range of standard hand and computer methods is desired.
· Proven ability to assess structural analysis problems is expected.
· Knowledge of the application of FE analysis and an understanding of aircraft production methods and processes would be beneficial.
· Experience of PC and mainframe computer systems would be expected.
· A team player with a high regard for internal and external customers, whilst maintaining aircraft integrity as the over-riding principle is expected.
