Our client is a world leading trials and evaluation organisation working closely with the UK MOD and other defence organisations for the trials and evaluation of air military platforms. They have requirements for Safety Engineers, Software Safety Engineers to be responsible for co-ordinating the evaluation of risk-related evidence in support of the production by multi-disciplinary teams of Military Aircraft Release (MA Release) recommendations mainly for new and modified aircraft.
The Safety Engineers, Software Safety Engineers will be expected to –
Prepare cooperatively with other technical specialists bids for submission to prospective customers
To work with customers and multi-disciplinary project teams of technical specialists to define evaluation requirements
Develop strategies to identify and obtain safety evidence required to underpin MA Release recommendations
Evaluate safety and software evidence provided by suppliers or technical specialists
Evaluate risk within multi-disciplinary project teams throughout the project lifecycle
Liaise with Project Managers, Customers, Suppliers, and technical specialists from a variety of disciplines
Coordinate safety activities within projects
The successful Safety Engineers, Software Safety Engineers will –
Be Degree or HNC (or equivalent) qualified in Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Avionics, Software Engineering or other relevant subject
Be experienced in avionics, aircraft software development, safety evaluation or systems engineering
Have knowledge of Safety Assessment techniques such as HAZOP, FMECA, FTA
Have knowledge of system/software lifecycles and software
