The Landing Gear Structures Analysis will be required to:-
Work as part of a team of engineers responsible for the structural integrity of landing gears and associated equipment specifically for Development A/C and R&T. This requires ensuring that Airworthiness and company requirements are met through direction of landing gear suppliers and teams.
Assess & approve structural certification deliverables including presentation to Airworthiness Authorities as necessary. Provide technical assessment and approval ensuring that all structural analysis aspects of landing gear design are to the appropriate quality and consistent across suppliers. Responsible for issuing structural specification requirements for landing gear & equipment Responsible for creating and (part) approving of structural design & certification policies for the LG Structures Certification Focal Point
Ensure structural integrity of landing gear design through providing specialist input to design specification, policies and loading. Responsible for providing appropriate structures input throughout landing gear review process Create structural policies for landing gear and coordinate buy-off in wider structures community Liaise with F&DT, M&P, FEA, ESA specialists to ensure product structural integrity. Support and input to R&D/R&T proposals and deliverables when required. Responsible for reviewing of & commenting on supplier justification reports Lead structural analysis aspects of supplier audits and delegated authority processes (Managerial) Provide specific budgeting and resourcing estimates Develop capability of tools and resource appropriate to programme requirements Ensure appropriate review of individual team member performance and identify training/development needs Motivate team to ensure appropriate working relationships with suppliers are achieved Support ongoing Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase team and business efficiency
Technical responsibility for guaranteeing quality of work of specific team and suppliers by providing technical approval & authorisation signatory (level 2 signatory) Decisions on resource recruitment, allocation and requirements to support specific programmes. Derive structures technical solutions to in-service problems.
Responsible for the delivery and standard/quality of work of engineers in LG and equipment supply base, including exposure to commercial aspects, negotiating needs & priorities Technical Authority to specify additional structural tests for certification and maturity as required
