Our client is a Global Aerospace Manufacturing company. They employ over 5000 people world wide and are a multi million pound turnover company. They supply products to some of the well know Aerospace type companies in the world including Rolls Royce, Boeing and Airbus to name a few.

Due to year on year growth through acquisitions and the winning of new illustrious contracts our client are looking to expand their Technical Engineering department and are thus looking to recruit an FEA / Stress Engineer to join their team based in the South West of England.

The main purpose of the role is to act as one of the lead stress analysis engineers working on new technological activities within the company. The role will require the engineer to formulate, validate and harmonise methods for design analysis and to perform technical analysis in a project.

Main Duties:

• Study and interpret existing documents, standards, norms and guides
• Propose rules and criteria to be applied
• Analyze technical data available for validation
• Develop validation plans
• Perform performance analysis (load calculations)
• Perform conventional and finite element analysis (F.E.A.)
• Optimize design solutions in conjunction with design engineers
• Define developmental tools and qualification tests
• Follow and validate results

Skills / Experience

• Mechanical engineering background including appropriate qualification(s)
• Analysis software experience E.g. Ansys, LS-DYNA etc
• Stress and fatigue analysis
• Dynamic analysis
