This particular role is for an Aircraft Manoeuvrability Engineer (Modelling) and the role will involve.
The role holder will be responsible for conducting model-based design studies to support the definition, validation and verification of top-level requirements for Aircraft Ground Operations (Braking and Steering Functions) and Landing Gear Systems. The work will also include support to the safety engineers through modelling and simulation.
Profile
· The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of dynamical system modelling: subjects including Control, Mechanics, Hydraulics and Electronics. · The successful candidate will be able to build, validate and execute simulation models based on the captured needs of the design engineers. · The successful candidate will be able to handle and manipulate large quantities of technical data, and produce technical reports. · The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the competencies required at the Professional operating level, as well as a sound understanding of system engineering processes and activities. · The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate strong team working and communication skills, and to show a high regard for internal and external customers, whilst maintaining aircraft integrity as the overriding principle. · Applicants should be educated to Degree level (or equivalent qualification) with, desirably, at least 2 years industrial experience. · Knowledge of the application of modelling techniques throughout the design life cycle and an understanding of aircraft production methods and processes is essential. · Experience of standard tools (e.g. MSC.ADAMS, Matlab, Simulink, etc.) would be beneficial, although training will be provided.
