Our client based in the Salisbury area is a leading trials and evaluation of air platforms (and associated systems) organisation working in close co-operation with the MOD and other Defence clients. The requirement is for an Aircraft Dynamics and Performance Engineer, Flight Engineer to be directly accountable to the appropriate Capability Leader and Technical Project Manager.
The Aircraft Dynamics and Performance Engineer, Flight Engineer will be expected to –
Conduct specified performance and flying qualities evaluations (e.g. flight control systems, flight envelope expansion and performance data) including:
oDesign and execution of technical evaluations (may be desk top or flight trials), including production of trials documentation, such as Trials Instructions, Trials Risk Assessments and Sortie Briefs.
oAnalysis of performance and flying qualities data, particularly flight trials data.
oProduction of reports that will include recommendations on airworthiness and fitness for purpose.
The successful Aircraft Dynamics and Performance Engineer, Flight Engineer will preferably be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in Aeronautical Engineering or be a Flight Test Engineer Graduate.
Have experience of designing and executing technical evaluations
Be capable of analysing performance and flying qualities data
Have knowledge of UK military airworthiness processes
Have thorough knowledge of aircraft stability, flight and engine control systems and aircraft and gas turbine performance
Have some knowledge of Hazard Assessment
