Our client specialises in providing development infrastructure solutions from planning, through to full implementation and is seeking to recruit a Senior Hydrologist to join the water team at Basingstoke.
The Water Team specialises in providing high level advice to private and public sector clients on planning and design issues relating to Flooding Issues, as well as water resources.
Your principal role will be day to day project management, analyses and supervision of a small team of hydrologists within Basingstoke and providing expert advice and guidance to other WSP UK offices. You can expect to be active on a number of projects at any given time.
You will provide the technical evidence to be used at planning enquiries and disputes.
You will be at or approaching CEng, MICE or CIWEM status and / or have a minimum of 7-10 years post graduate experience in hydrological analysis in the UK. Experience in the input to s105 plans for the Environment Agency and overseas experience would also be advantageous.
You should be fully conversant and have a sound knowledge of the following UK packages; FEH, WINFAP-FEH revitalised FSR / FEH rainfall run-off methods. In addition any knowledge / experience of other overseas methodologies would be beneficial. Some working experience of River Software – ISIS, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks RS, and Tuflow would also be advantageous.
Probably from a UK Consultancy or Agency (EA) background, you will need to have good written and spoken communication skills and be able to work as part of a team.
