Our client is currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer based in High Wycombe.
Your responsibilities will include:
•Supervise graduate engineers on the preparation of desk studies for major water industry projects.
•Assist graduates engineers with planning and site supervision of ground investigations, mainly in connection with water industry infrastructure including dams, pipelines, pumping stations, water and waste water treatment works and outfalls.
•Production of interpretative geotechnical reports for ground investigations, including geotechnical sections, data arrangement and complex geotechnical interpretation.
•Analysis of geotechnical structures, including slope stability, retaining walls and foundations.
•
There will be a requirement to visit other offices within the company, and also undertake site visits and inspections and longer periods of site supervision from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience.
The successful candidate will have previous relevant work experience in a similar position with either a consulting engineer or a contractor.
You should have a degree or equivalent qualification in Geology, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Foundation Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or a relevant subject.
Strong communication skills are essential as the position requires the writing of technical reports for both internal and external use that will be read by both technical and non technical clients.
Experience in the use of IT including software such as Word and Excel is also essential, as is Full UK driving license and the ability to travel to other offices and site locations as the work requires.
