We have an excellent opportunity for a leading global consultancy in the water, environmental & energy sectors for a Principal Hydrologist.

Based out of their offices in High Wycombe you will need to work closely with and develop the existing team and have a strong Client-focus. This is principally a technical role, but there will be a need to support the business development activities including the preparation of proposals and face to face marketing.

Ideally you will have an appropriate degree and postgraduate qualifications, have gained Chartered status and a detailed knowledge of:


UK water resources planning procedures
Catchment and resource system models such as HYSIM, MISER & AQUATOR
Flood estimation using FEH and rainfall-runoff models
Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments (PPS25)
Low Flow Studies, assessment of surface water resources and source sustainability investigations.
Experience of international projects and R&D contracts will also be an advantage.

To be successful in this role you will be expected to have a high level of technical expertise, be numerate, and be able to communicate easily orally and in writing with a proven track record in leadership and mentoring of junior staff. Projects are mainly located in the south of the UK, although it is possible that the opportunity for travel in the UK and internationally may arise.

You should be able to demonstrate good time and project management, effective communication and strong reporting skills. A flexible attitude, strong interpersonal skills and presentation experience are considered very advantageous.
