Our client are currently seeking a Principal Environmental Engineer and Business Developer to be based in their High Wycombe Office.
The successful candidate will take a leading role in developing the company's Natural & Built Environment business in the Waste Management arena. This will include, but not be limited to, management of waste management projects, support to business development, preparation of estimates and proposals.
Projects could include, feasibility studies, design and engineering for municipal , hazardous or commercial waste treatment processes e.g. stabilisation, composting, anaerobic digestion, MBT, energy from waste, transfer stations.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong contacts in UK waste / energy sector, ability to win new work as well as an ability to manage and deliver consulting projects. Ability to deliver projects will be based on a strong technical background and wide experience, excellent knowledge of UK regulation in this area.
Qualifications and Experience.
•Experienced in business development of professional services and good contacts in UK energy / waste field. (minimum 3 years)
•Experienced in design of waste treatment and disposal facilities. as well as experience of permitting and licensing of waste handling and treatment plants..
•Experienced in planning and preparation of proposals for professional services and prepared to write proposals personally or to plan and lead teams writing proposals.
•Experience in working within and large professional service organisation providing business to business services and appreciating the need to develop and maintain internal as well as external relationships.
•Experience of work outside the UK particularly in Europe.
•You will require an Engineering Degree in subject of relevance, preferably: civil, mechanical, chemical or environmental engineering.
•To really succeed in this position, it would also be beneficial to have a Postgraduate degree or equivalent in relevant subject plus Chartered Status or equivalent professional qualification.
•The candidate is likely to be CIWM, CIWEM, ICE or IChemE member with a good working knowledge of health & safety regulations in the UK
