A Senior Health and Safety Managers job is available in Southampton to work for a large civil engineering contractor on the South Coast. Heavy Civil Engineering experience is essential for this position. Our Client has over 30 years experience as a regional contractor with a solid financial and technical base spanning a wide spectrum of civil engineering and building. - Offices throughout the South of England and Wales - Long term relationships with many of their clients - Committed to Partnering Innovation and Collaborative Working - 27 years in construction - 350 full-time employees - £51.5m turnover in 2005 / 2006 - £144m secured order book for 2008 – 2010 They are currently seeking a senior Health and Safety Manager to run operations from their head office in Southampton. You will have the entire control over the health and safety systems and procedures and will be responsible for managing a team of experienced safety advisors working out on sites across the region. The ideal applicant will have a minimum NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent NVQ or Msc and be CMIOSH or working towards chartered membership of IOSH. Extensive experience in the civil's / construction industry is essential having worked on large projects in the past with a proven track record for being a good communicator and manager. A motivated proactive approach to health and safety is also essential with the ability to work well under pressure.
