The company focuses on long-term relationships, has 5,000 employees and delivers solutions through two primary business segments - Maintenance Services and Engineering & Project Services.
The Sector
The Engineering & Project Services segment serves public and regulated sector customers across a broad range of industries. Core services include the enhancement of road and rail infrastructure, flood protection, ground remediation, foundations, geotechnical engineering and building.
The Role
We are looking for someone to provide commercial support to a £6m Design and Construction team based in Stevenage.
The main responsibilities will be:
Support the Signal team in all commercial matters
Be proactive in promoting team working and partnering
Set up administration systems where necessary in consultation with the senior team members
Ensure timely submission of Valuations
Ensure cash flow is maximised including ensuring payments are received on time.
Produce cash flow forecasts and keep updated
Preparation and submission of monthly cost value reconciliation
Manage the commercial aspects of sub-contract accounts, from procurement to interim and final account agreement
Ensure the accurate and timely evaluation and agreement of final quantities, revised and additional items, rates and Compensation Events
Produce Margin forecast based on contract programme. Monitor and update forecast during contract currency
Utilise the systems for the assessment, recording and management of risk and monitor with actual
Identify additional entitlement under the contract including the monitoring of daily records, site instructions and changes to work scope
Monitor and liase with the team on progress
Provide team members with commercial support as required
Ensure that good records are kept in order that the full entitlement under the contract is achieved
Essential Skills
· Relevant experience in the Construction Industry
· Must have a thorough understanding of standard forms of Contract
· Must possess excellent negotiating skills
· Must have IT skills with a particular emphasis on spreadsheets
· Have a working knowledge of programmes and recognise the commercial implications of change
· Must possess report writing skills
