My client is a market leader in construction and facilities management services throughout the UK. Due to the increasing demand for energy management throughout the industry, they are looking to recruit an experienced Technical Manager capable of promoting Energy Management within and outside the organisation. The manager will be working alongside the Project and Sales team to restructure the current systems in place. They will also be expected to sell the new and innovative ideas to potential clients and be the face of the company to the media on energy systems. The ideal candidate will have good commercial awareness and have experience/knowledge of Commercial, Critical and Manufacturing backgrounds. Setting up new departments and systems will be a key aspect of this role. Based on the current environmental and market situation my client expects this role to lead into a high profile position within the organisation and the industry. - Set the standards for and co-ordinate the delivery of best practice building maintenance by maintenance technicians. - Develop a self perform capability and lead the activity for energy management services including data analysis, building energy performance surveys, bill validation and remote building energy performance monitoring. - Represent, improve, and offer advice to our project managers, bid teams and client representatives on key technical and managerial aspects of Mechanical and Electrical maintenance and energy management including but not limited to: - Technical Problem Solving - Technical Solution Design - Technical Staff Recruitment - Maintenance Operations Solutions Design and Review - Change Management Programmes - Mobilisation Programme Planning and Review - Commercial and Performance Benchmarking - Value for Money Reviews - Capital Expenditure Planning - New Products, materials and maintenance techniques - Supply Chain Capability and Performance - Technical, practical and commercial Review of ‘good ideas'. - Lead the process of assessing energy management opportunities for new and existing clients including contributing to the associated sales strategy. - Project manage technically based Research & Development Projects as directed by the FM Sector Excellence Champion. - Directly assist with and influence the FM sector's development activities: Continuous Improvement, Applied Research, New Product Development - Make a direct contribution to, and have a direct impact on, measures and initiatives to be implemented by the COE - Represent the organisations expertise in key, identified aspects of Mechanical and Electrical maintenance and energy management service through published articles, internal marketing media and participation in industry forums - Identify, record and transfer best practice into our FM operational practice through CPD, knowledge transfer mechanisms and FM sector specific people and operational development programmes
