Introduction:
Our client is a world renowned shipbuilding company serving the defense industry including the Royal Navy.
An ideal opportunity has arisen to join our client as a member of the Sea Riding element of the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) Team. This is primarily a Vessel based position, working watch on watch off.
As an experienced engineer you will have a proven background in Marine Electronic engineering.

The successful candidates will both possess good inter personal skills, with a pragmatic approach to the customer, be flexible, and willing to work outside normal office hours to achieve the task in hand.

Responsibilities:
- Maintenance, Repair and Support of Marine Electrical/Electronic Equipment on board the new class of Royal Navy (RN) Survey Vessels.
- Conduct onboard Specialist to Type Training as directed by Line Manager
- Work offshore and alongside to provide direct engineering and training support to the RN.
- Assist the shore based CLS Management team in providing the daily support to the RN.
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities within your competence as instructed by the Line Manager.

Candidate Requirements:
- Join the Sponsored Royal Navy Reserve Scheme in support of CLS contracted Vessels.
- HNC/HND/Degree Level qualification or equivalent service experience in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Experience in maintenance and repair of Electrical/Electronic systems to a modular level, with particular emphasis on fault diagnostics and use of Test Equipment.
- An understanding of Computer Based Equipment and Networking.
- Good inter personal and liaison skills with a pragmatic approach to customer support and training.

Although not essential, it is desirable you hold the following skills;
- Experience of River Class Fishery Patrol Vessels, and RN Echo Class Survey Vessels
- Experience of working under Classification Society Rules
- Experience in supporting Vessel Docking/Maintenance Periods
