SENIOR PROTOCOL STACK ENGINEER / HAMPSHIRE / TO £50K

* World leading organisation seeks experienced Software Engineer for an exciting position working on the protocol processing parts of Reference Design Firmware, reporting to Protocol Stack Leader
* To apply for this challenging role, you must have significant commercial exp; ideally strong background in wireless protocols & design of efficient/robust low level, real-time, software. Other key criteria include:
- Extensive exp in C programming
- Real time C embedded environment
- Air interface exp (1 of GSM , WCDMA, TETRA etc)
- Handset exp (low power, limited memory)
- RTOS (OSE or DSP/BIOS)
- Proficient with: Code Composer; Matlab; Version control system (e.g SVN)
The SENIOR PROTOCOL STACK ENGINEER will:
* Develop code in C & SDL for processing of radio communications protocols (TETRA Layer 1, 2 & 3)
* Analyse/resolve problems in a real time embedded environment
* Perform technical investigations into code improvements & hardware ports
* Provide technical/resourcing input to project planning
* Keep updated with latest developments in relevant technology
Key tasks in this software engineering role include:
* Real time programming for small memory & low power platforms
* Support existing products
* Propose/drive software improvements
* Initiate/participate in team design reviews
* Provide content for product & design documentation
* Timely status reports on projects to Team Leader
