IT Manager - Southampton - Experienced IT Manager with MCSE, ITIL, PRINCE2 with strong technical knowledge of networks and PC (Windows Server 2003, Exchange 2007, Sharepoint) and proven experience in IT infrastructure, planning and development.
IT Manager / Support Manager required for this expanding company in Southampton. They are a leading IT services provider and are looking to expand their IT infrastructure and maintain their current systems.
You will be responsible for a small team and both the HO and peripheral office and their users.
Responsibilities will include
* Lead IT Department operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organising and negotiating the allocation of resources.
* Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware and software
* Benchmark, analyse, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
* Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support.
* Work with Director of the company to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations
* Manage financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgets / budget review and develop business cases and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiative.
* Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
* Develop requests for proposal and negotiate and administer vendor, outsource, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
* Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
* Manage IT technical staffing, including recruitment and technical induction, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
* Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organisation's and wider Group's Directors, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
You will be an experienced IT Manager or Support Manager who is MCSE, ITIL and PRINCE2 certified and degree educated ideally in a computer related degree. You will have strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows Server 2003, Exchange 2007 and Sharepoint and current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
You will have application support experience with CRM Packages, proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development with In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Location: Southampton but commutable from places like Winchester, Portsmouth, Fareham, Basingstoke and surrounding areas.
Salary: £30-40k depending on experience
