Our client's well established Transport Planning team is currently looking to recruit a Senior Transport Planner.
You will enjoy a varied workload including:
• Completing technical inputs to a wide range of projects • Leading small projects and individual tasks within larger projects, including supervising the work of others • Liaising with clients on technical and project management issues • Assisting the Technical Director and others in the development of marketing materials, fee proposals and other inputs • Contributing to business planning and development • Acting as mentor for other staff in particular technical areas
You will have a Masters or equivalent in a transport related subject and will have achieved Chartered Status either with ILT or ICE.
With previous experience in a transport planning consultancy or local authority, you will be experienced in leading projects and using transport planning software (SATURN, TRIPS, TRANSYT) and in development planning techniques (using software for junction appraisal such as ARCADY and PICADY) OR in transport policy development.
You will have a good knowledge and a genuine interest in current transport issues, will be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team with the ability to supervise the work of others, have good all-round communication skills and have excellent IT skills, which must include proficiency in using Microsoft applications.
This position could involve working on site, which may involve working away from home and occasionally abroad and therefore a valid, full driving licence is required.
Our client will offer a competitive salary, probably in the range of £30 - 37,000 p.a., a friendly working environment and a comprehensive benefits package.
