Are you a motivated Engineer with the experience and drive to undertake and supervise various aspects of highway design on large Highway Improvement Schemes?

Due to the continued expansion of their Hampshire office, our client has a vacancy for a Senior Highways Engineer to work in design teams on a number of exciting major highway and motorway improvement schemes, being carried out under ECI and Design and Build Contracts.

You will undertake and supervise various aspects of highway design on large Highway Improvement Schemes and will be responsible for detailed design and the preparation of contract drawings and documents, either produced independently or by other team members.

You will be a Chartered Engineer with wide ranging, appropriate experience or an Incorporated Engineer with significant experience in the following areas:

• Highway alignment and junction design
• Safety barrier, drainage, pavement, traffic signs and lighting design
• The application of the Highway Agency’s DMRB and MCDHW documents

Proven experience in project management, supervision and leading of teams and a demonstrable ability to communicate with colleagues and staff at all levels is essential as is experience working in a Highway Design Office on medium to large scale projects, preferably at tender and detailed design stages.

You will be flexible in your approach to work, have an interest in multidisciplinary working, excellent computing skills and a good understanding of MX and / or WINDES and Micro-drainage. Skills in AutoCAD are desirable, although not essential.

This position would suit an individual that is able to work independently or as part of a large team in an environment with frequently changing deadlines.

Our client will offer a competitive salary, probably in the range of £32 - 38,000 p.a., a friendly working environment and a comprehensive benefits package.
