Our client in Berkshire is looking to appoint a highly talented Highway Structures Engineer at Senior level to join their team empowered to manage and improve highway assets and transport systems.
You will enjoy an interesting, diverse workload, which will include:
• Managing the routine maintenance of highway structures
• Managing the passage of abnormal loads
• Coordinating and undertaking structures inspections, including road, river and rail bridges
• Instructing and supervising works of the highway maintenance contractor
• Maintaining records of the highway structures assets
• Design and supervision of capital maintenance schemes
• Co-ordinating Special Inspections and Structural Monitoring
• Assessment of structures where necessary to meet capacity requirements
• Ensuring compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards
You will have a degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, preferably have C.Eng MICE or I.Eng status OR have an HNC / HND together with substantial experience of working on highway design projects, preferably at tender and detailed design stages
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to manage a number of ongoing concurrent projects is essential.
You will have excellent all-round communication skills and good time management skills.
A full driving licence valid in the UK is required.

Our client will offer a competitive salary, probably in the range of £30 - 37,000 p.a., together with a comprehensive benefits package.
