Our client in Surrey wishes to recruit a Transport Modeller at Principal level to meet the needs and expectations of public and private sector clients including local authorities, public transport authorities, road and rail regulators and operating companies.
You will work within a team and will be expected to contribute a significant level of technical expertise to projects and proposals. Your main duties will include:
• As part of a project management team, manage projects and work streams to quality, time, cost and invoicing targets, and overall client satisfaction • Seek new client and work opportunities and to contribute to marketing intelligence and material under the guidance of the Regional Director • Promote and sustain a constructive, supportive and friendly working relationship with all clients and colleagues • Provide technical guidance and advice to others including workplace training • Write succinct, explanatory and non-technical reports (as appropriate) for clients and fully document projects • Promote effective project delivery by absorbing and disseminating relevant modelling and appraisal technical skills
You will have a degree or equivalent in an analytical subjects and will preferably have an M.Sc in transportation. You will also need significant experience in transport modelling and appraisal projects, including feasibility studies and cost benefit analysis, whilst any experience of working with a broad range of clients / rail related projects, especially TfL or DfT would be beneficial.
With the capability to develop, run and present results for transport models in EMME/2 AND / OR at least one other transport modelling package, you will have proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Access, will have good project management, proposal, report writing and presentation skills together with a client-facing approach with proven negotiation skills.
Any experience of multi modal modelling packages (Cube/Visum), Cost Benefit / Tuba / Appraisal techniques, Stated Preference Techniques Passenger Demand Forecasting Handbook AND / OR Rail Business Case experience would be useful.
You will be a well organised individual who is self motivated and who has with good time management skills. Excellent all-round communication and presentation skills are essential as is a flexible approach to working hours.
As you will be required to travel to client sites and other offices, a driving licence valid in the UK IS essential.
Our client will offer a competitive salary, probably in the range of £38 - 45,000 p.a., together with a comprehensive benefits package.
