If you want to pursue a career in traffic engineering with bright, long-term prospects, please call us now.
Our client offers a tremendous opportunity to join them at an exciting growth stage and will offer unrivalled opportunities to become part of their success story.
You will be appropriately qualified, preferably in a Civil, Geography or Maths related discipline, whilst although not essential, preferably have a postgraduate qualification in transportation planning and engineering.
All team members adopt a hands-on approach to work and you can expect to be actively involved in a varied workload, which will include:
• Preliminary Junction Layouts • Capacity Analysis • Car Park Design • Swept Path Analysis • Traffic Management Schemes • Traffic Calming Measures • Transport Interchange Design • Home Zones • Road Safety Audits • Accident Analysis
Your experience must include working on a predominantly development planning workload and should include some time working for a private sector consultancy.
With the ability to demonstrate experience of the transport impact analysis of development proposals, preliminary design of site access junction arrangements and offsite transport infrastructure improvements, you will also have proficient use of computer modelling programmes such as PICADY, ARCADY, LINSIG, and TRANSYT and experience in the preparation of Transport Assessment reports. You will be at an advantage if you are capable of taking a TA from conception all the way through to completion, including negotiations with the Highway Authority.
You should be aware of the commercial environment in which you are working and in particular be beginning to understand the ‘added value’ element of the service that private sector consultants provide to their clients. Consequently, you should anticipate a ‘can do’ culture where whatever is required is done in an effort to provide clients with the level of service that they expect.
The ability to work using your own initiative is essential.
Our client will offer an attractive, negotiable salary, probably in the range of £38 - 46,000 p.a., together with a range of benefits.
