The infrastructure team within Buildings and South East Division (BSE) in Croydon is responsible for contributing to civil engineering infrastructure projects across a wide range of sectors (including highways, light rapid transit, railways, housing, regeneration, site development, ports and buildings) and for a spectrum of clients. Our primary market is in London and the South East although we do also support projects from colleagues across the UK and internationally.
We now require an experienced CAD Technician to support the growing Civils team.
Job description
The CAD Technician will be required to deliver high quality infrastructure drawings for development infrastructure, highway, drainage and light rapid transit disciplines within tight deadlines.
• Producing engineering drawings using ACAD and Microstation software
• Spreadsheet entry, manipulation and management
• Site visits - you will occasionally be required to assist engineers in on-site survey work, which may require travelling and overtime
• Other office duties as required
Candidate specification
Essential qualifications, experience, competencies and skills:
• Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and MicroStation
• The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and external contacts
• Experience of working on highway and infrastructure projects.
• Motivated and can work on own initiative
• Capable of leading by example
Desirable qualifications, experience, competencies and skills:
• Proficiency in the use of Microstation
• ONC or HNC Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Some experience of basic highway design, road signs and markings design, ground modelling.
• Previous experience of working in a multi-disciplinary, client facing organisation
