Due to our client's continued expansion, their Hampshire office is seeking to recruit a Design Technician to strengthen their Highway and Bridge design teams, who are working on various major road projects for the Highways Agency.
You will be involved in the technical input of highway schemes from inception through to handover of the completed scheme to the client and your responsibilities are likely to include:
• Preparation of documents, reports and health and safety risk assessments
• Scheme feasibility studies
• Preparation of scheme designs and drawings
• Interfacing with multi disciplinary project teams
You will be appropriately qualified with experience in a similar role, will have knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications and will have extensive knowledge of AutoCAD. Experience or knowledge of design packages such as MX, MicroDrainage and Key Software is preferred, but not essential.
Good communication, client handling and interpersonal skills are also important.
The work will be primarily office based, but there may be an opportunity to supervise the construction of works.
Our client will offer you the opportunity to work towards Incorporated Status through their ICE accredited training scheme.
A competitive salary, probably in the range of £18 - 25,000 p.a., together with a comprehensive benefits package will be offered.
