A unique, career defining opportunity has arisen for an Associate Director to build and develop a new team and grow our client's Transport Planning business within their West Sussex office.
This position offers a diverse and varied workload and candidates will need to develop appropriate solutions to often complex issues.
As well as developing the new team, you will need to develop appropriate solutions to often complex issues. You will also be responsible for sharing in the responsibility for business management for the group as a whole, you will deal with multidisciplinary tasks and will deal with a large number of clients with a view to securing planning consents and solving transport related issues.
You will be an experienced Engineer / Planner with substantial postgraduate experience in the planning process including structure plans and local plans / LDF and will be able to offer the following attributes / experience:
• Production of Transport Assessments • Transport Modelling, Sustainability, Travel Plans and other transport related advice. • Expert witness experience. • Negotiations with Planning Authorities, Highway Authorities and other relevant agencies. • A good understanding of highway design, junction design, signal design and traffic management techniques • Knowledge of sustainability issues • Knowledge of the appropriate models (ARCADY, PICADY, ARCADY and TRANSYT) as well as other appropriate software.
In addition, you will be able to develop and win new business and lead a team of planners.
You will have a proven track record of good client relationships in the transport and development field, will have a good understanding of the financial and contractual aspects of planning, bidding, resourcing and delivering large and small projects both in UK and overseas.
Experience of working overseas would be an advantage.
Our client will offer a competitive salary, probably in the range of £48 - 55,000 p.a., together with a comprehensive benefits package.
