Facility Engineer £20,430 - £34,415 Dependent on experience Aldermaston
Summary of the role
To be part of the Plasma Physics (PP) Facility Engineering Team providing the necessary support to the existing PP in the Helen laser and the new ORION facilities.
Key accountabilities
- Implementation of facility engineering processes that ensure facility infrastructure systems and equipment are adequately maintained and under configuration control
Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience, Skills
- Familiarity with typical facility infrastructure systems, e.g. HVAC, Water, Gas & Electrical Services and building management systems
- Basic safety requirements for operating high voltage equipment
- Awareness of UK Health & Safety Legislation
- Awareness of NII License Conditions
- Awareness of typical safety management policy and systems
- HNC or equivalent in an Engineering subject
- A relevant safety qualification, e.g. IOSH Certificate
- In -depth experience working in a facility engineering role in complex industrial or scientific facilities, preferably within the nuclear industry
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels, verbally and in writing
- Good interpersonal skills
- Problem solving
- Working understanding of IT including MS Office applications
Special Requirements
- Undertake training in radiological safety, HV hazards and facility induction
