The purpose of the job is to have overall operational control to ensure profitability and growth of existing/new business at a large Water Company. The post holder will be accountable for the effective delivery of a professional facilities management operation anticipated turnover value of approximately £500k - £1m. Candidates who wish to apply should have substantial operational management experience including at least one role with accountability for the management of a sizeable team of people, at least one substantial role successfully managing a medium sized operational activity with clear profit accountability, experience of managing a reasonably sized portfolio of customer relationships with the tangible/ quantifiable evidence of success in developing new business and experience of successfully implementing changes in key operational activities. Technical expertise and qualifications in a Building Services engineering discipline would be an important pre-requisite of the role combined with knowledge of key operational management disciplines, e.g. quality control, work-planning methods, planned maintenance systems, IT literacy (word processing, spreadsheets and project management tools) and good sound knowledge and understanding with commercial and contractual issues.
