Job Description

The successful candidate will need to be familiar and have worked with air and noise modelling packages, undertaken assessments and ideally have experience undertaking air and noise monitoring themselves. This position would suit someone working as a senior who my client would look to promote quickly to principal.

Candidates with experience in waste, contamination or sustainability will be of particular interest. My client is also interested in someone of a similar level who has undertaken work on Environmental Impact Assessment.

Main Responsibility

To provide professional support to Planning Team in respect of Environmental Assessments, Data Analysis and Report Writing as well as professional consultancy and project management service.

Have solid experience as an Environmental Consultant and be able to undertake all of the key task associated with this position. Plus:

The candidate must be able to work on their own with direction from the Project Engineer/Consultant and be capable of taking responsibility for document production to a high standard.

1. Ensure work is to a high technical standard and to a defined quality;
2. Become familiar with all Environmental Analysis packages used by Planning 5;
3. Instruct CAD Technicians in producing outline and detailed drawings;
4. Implement Quality procedures;
5. Control electronic and hard copy files;
6. Liaise with other team members;
7. Liaise with Clients, Local Authorities and other parties as required;
8. Arrange and supervise, where appropriate, surveys by Specialist Consultants and analyse results;
9. Should be aware of relevant planning and legal issues where appropriate;
10. Prepare reports under guidance;
11. Prepare scoping studies; and

Have and be able to use advanced environmental assessment skills and qualifications.

1. Have acquired knowledge and experience through handling successfully a variety of projects;
2. Prepare fee proposals under supervision;
3. Attend project meetings;
4. Undertake project management under guidance;
5. Prepare reports under minimal guidance;
6. Supervision of project team members; and
7. Delegate routine tasks to technical and other staff;

The successful candidate will be responsible for a number of Consultants and Technicians and will directly report to the Principal Consultant, Technical Director or Project Manager as appropriate.
