Our well respected client now has an opportunity for a talented professional to develop their own positive impact on ecology in the UK. The role will involve assessing the impact of a proposed development on habitats and species is an essential element of any development proposal if it is to meet the requirements of the various wildlife legislation and policy, including the Wildlife & Countryside Act and Habitat Regulations. Their Ecology Team has a long history of providing clients with ecological impact assessment and mitigation guidelines, in the course of which we have developed substantial expertise in: Site Survey and Evaluation; Legislation and Policy Advice, Ecological Impact Assessment, and Wildlife Habitat Creation and Management.
You will have continuous involvement from concept to completion of projects – from preparing fee proposals and tender submissions through financial control of projects, to factual and interpretative reporting to recognised standards. You will also provide specialist input to field surveys (e.g. bats, badgers, birds, plants, reptiles, amphibians) throughout the UK, undertake basic GIS mapping in MapInfo, and liaise extensively with clients, consultees, our own management team, and statutory agencies.
You will be degree qualified in Ecology or a related subject and have solid experience in the ecological field. You will be both a team player and a team leader, and your track record must demonstrate a high quality of work and efficiency. You should also possess at least one protected species licence.
