An experienced and enthusiastic senior ecologist is needed to join an environmental consultancy in Bedford, where you will play a crucial part in the consultancies plan to improve every aspect of the environment. You will make an important contribution to the impressive range of environmental projects that your team gets involved in. There is a large variety of projects throughout the UK and possible opportunities to work on international projects too. You will be required to plan and manage ecology assessment work including field surveys, risk assessment and the supervision of mitigation for protection of protected species. The main aspect of the role will require you to contribute to writing EIA reports and appropriate assessments and manage and mentor more junior staff members. It is essential that you have a degree and preferably an postgraduate degree in ecology or botany or related discipline, and have extensive professional experience of field and consultancy work. You should have excellent knowledge local planning, conservation legislation and understand the EIA process. As well as your academic qualifications and experience you will have excellent team and communication skills, be self motivated, enthusiastic and have a full, clean driving license.
