As part of the continued development of their Transportation Unit they currently have a vacancy for an enthusiastic Senior Acoustic Engineer to join the Environment Team in Southampton, to reinforce and provide scope for expansion of existing capabilities.
Job description A senior specialist to join a small team of specialists providing backup to the company's Highway Division based in Southampton. The work is primarily geared toward various aspects of highway design, construction and maintenance although a broader range of issues relating to civil engineering and the environment are often encountered.
· Calculation, prediction and assessment of traffic noise; · Calculation, prediction, assessment and mitigation of noise and vibration from civil engineering construction, industrial sites and maintenance operations; · Noise measurement surveys; · Preparation of noise input towards environmental assessments; · Preparation of reports; · Project Management and mentoring of junior staff; and, · Business development. Candidate specification Essential academic, professional qualifications and experience: · Degree or similar in acoustics/vibration related field; · Proven technical ability in terms of problem solving and analytical thinking; and, · Ability to manage time, resources and projects effectively. · Commitment to CPD; · Willing and able to work within team environment and involve others where necessary; · Innovative thinker; · Plus experience and ability to work with minimum of supervision; · Able to write technical reports; and, · Good personal communication skills
