The Geotechnical Engineering group provides a wide range of geotechnical services to private and public sector clients. Projects are usually either development style jobs where a process might involve a combination of desk study, SI contract management, production of risk assessment documents to support planning applications, provision of engineering advice and/or calculations and project/financial management of the geotechnical part of the project. These projects can vary from very large (£100M) PFI contracts, to small commercial development contracts. The other major style of project are related to civil engineering works, working closely with civil engineers in areas such as infrastructure, roads, transportation, public health and heavy civils with a focus on aviation and defence work. Key Responsibilities: - Leading & managing teams of senior & junior engineers to deliver geotechnical engineering projects. - Helping to win work then providing a responsive, customer focused service. - Producing risk assessment documents to support planning applications, engineering advice and/or engineering calculations. - Project/financial management of the geotechnical part of the project. - SI contract management. - 1st Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or Geology. - Ideally 2nd Degree in Engineering Geology or Soil Mechanics or Foundations. - Engineering experience in foundation construction & design, slope engineering, site investigation techniques & contracts, contaminated land & waste regulatory frameworks & relevant UK geotechnical standards.
Qualifications/Experience: - 1st Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or Geology. - Ideally 2nd Degree in Engineering Geology or Soil Mechanics or Foundations. - Engineering experience in foundation construction & design, slope engineering, site investigation techniques & contracts, contaminated land & waste regulatory frameworks & relevant UK geotechnical standards.
